What to see around Bhuj

Bhuj is the cultural capital of Kutch. These are the places most guests plan around.

  • Shree Swaminarayan Mandir

The marble temple in the town, rebuilt and reopened in 2010 after the 2001 earthquake damaged the original.

  • Aina Mahal and Prag Mahal

Two royal palaces side by side near Hamirsar Lake. Mirror halls in one, Italian Gothic towers in the other.

  • Kutch Museum

One of the oldest museums in Gujarat, with textiles, coins, weapons and local history.

  • Hamirsar Lake

A lake in the middle of town, pleasant for an evening walk when the water is full.

  • Bhujodi weaving village

Handloom shawls and weavers at work, a short drive from Bhuj.

  • White Rann at Dhordo

The salt desert, best at sunset and around full moon. Plan a full day for the round trip.
